Project Focus: Explored communication with ghosts as an interaction system, questioning why humans seek contact with the supernatural through rhetorical and literal perspectives.
Research and Concept Development: Informed by extensive research into religion, culture, and modern ghost communication; resulted in the creation of an ouija board-inspired manual that mimics the form and experience of supernatural interaction.
Design and Execution: Layout simulates planchette movement using a structured grid and split text alignment to represent opposing viewpoints. Minimalist design with transparent paper, mirrors, and projections to reflect the unseen, fleeting nature of ghosts. Visual effects like lens flares and blurs used to suggest manipulated realities, echoing how spiritual encounters are often debunked.
Audience and Visual Language: Targeted at ghost enthusiasts and curious individuals aged 20–30. Utilised a black, white, and grey colour scheme to express themes of light vs shadow, life vs death, and belief vs skepticism. Typography choices and layout reinforce the historical and conceptual tone of ghost communication.
