For this project I used archival material from the public domain to reimagine the novel, pride and prejudice. I created physical manipulations of images as well as digital manipulations. I used techniques such as lino print, collage, animation, photoshop and letterpress. I created this document to envision the narrative of pride and prejudice. Pride and Prejudice reminds me of the old love and courtship that the Victorian period relied on. The Victorian period was enveloped by romanticism, impressionism and realism within the arts. Romanticism was a key movement amongst art, poetry and everyday life. When analysing this book, I will reimagine the narrative and story by embracing the opposite of the art era, and using steampunk inspired imagery to create a new story that focuses more on the feminist challenges of the female characters in the narrative.
